The Musical Director was Nic Parker and the Production Director was Ken Dagger.  Ken is well-known in Fylde Coast circles as both a star performer and producer with Marton Operatic Society. The Society is pleased to say that the production has been a considerable box office success and that it has received much critical acclaim. Extra programmes had to be printed to meet demand for them. A big problem occurred on the last night at Lytham when our principal lady and our headsman who were travelling in the same car were involved in an accident and could not make it to the theatre [we are happy to report that they are now both OK]. The Society rose to the occasion, and in particular two of our first sopranos rose to the occasion and the show went on never the less to rapturous applause.
